Enhancing Coordinated Entry Through Partnerships with Mainstream Resources and Programs

To assist communities with implementing HUD’s requirements for coordinated entry announced in CPD-17-01: Notice Establishing Additional Requirements for a Continuum of Care Centralized or Coordinated Assessment System, USICH has released Enhancing Coordinated Entry through Partnerships with Mainstream Resources and Programs. This guide, along with an accompanying sample housing assessment questionnaire, seeks to help communities ensure their coordinated entry processes include federal, state, and local programs that are not specifically tailored to individuals or families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

Strategies to Address the Intersection of the Opioid Crisis and Homelessness

As discussed in USICH’s blog, the United States is witnessing an unprecedented opioid crisis that is touching many segments of the population, from rural and suburban to urban communities and across socio-economic lines. To help communities address this, USICH has released Strategies to Address the Intersection of the Opioid Crisis and Homelessness, which identifies strategies that communities, providers, and policymakers can use to address the intersection of homelessness and the opioid crisis and highlights resources developed by federal and national partners to support such efforts.
